Paper has certain advantages. It is more flexible.
Borders here are often torn, not cut.

This is an original work of art. It is a photo that I printed and then painted over. Only this one print was made. I had taken this photograph in Los Angeles, where banana trees can sometimes be seen to grow in gardens.
Printed in black and white on paper coated with clear acrylic. Then acrylic yellow was used to paint over and into the printed image. Only one print was made.
